AT&T -Lodi <br /> ATC Project No 75 75128 0001 <br /> Page 6, January 19, 200I <br />' 5.0 INVESTIGATION RESULTS <br /> 5.1 SOIL BORING FINDINGS <br /> ' 5.1.1 SITE SPECIFIC STRATIGRAPHY <br /> A total of soil borings were drilled to obtain soil samples for providing data on subsurface conditions <br /> near the former UST location at the subject site The site stratigraphic conditions discussed below are <br /> based on the interpretation of the geologic materials encountered during drilling <br /> Predominantly sandy gravel fill was encountered from the surface to a depth of approximately 1 feet <br /> bgs This was underlain with various thicknesses of fine sand and silt, to a depth of 38 feet bgs, the <br /> maximum depth of the bonngs The Soil Bonn-Logs are provided in Appendix B <br /> 5.1.2 GROUNDWATER <br /> Groundwater was encountered in borings throughout the study area at depths ranging from 29 to 32 <br /> feet bgs Following installation of irionitonng wells MW 1 through MW3, groundwater was observed <br /> to equilibrate at approximately 30 feet bgs in each well Figure 3 is a groundwater surface contour <br /> map This map shows the groundwater surface to slope in a southerly direction at a gradient of about <br /> 0 002 ft/ft <br /> 5.2 FIELD OBSERVATIONS <br /> 5.2.1 EXPLORATORY SOIL BORING VISUAL OBSERVATIONS <br /> Soil samples collected in MW 1 through N W3 were not observed to have discoloration or odors <br /> ' related to petroleum hydrocarbons <br /> 5.2.2 GROUNDWATER VISUAL OBSERVATIONS <br /> Groundwater initially removed from each monitonng well was clear with no floating product, no sheen <br /> and no hydrocarbon odor With continued bailing of the wells, suspended clays and silts were <br /> ' observed in the water throughout removal of the five well volumes prior to sampling <br /> 5.3 LABORATORY ANALYTICAL RESULTS <br /> A summary of the groundwater sample chemical test results are presented in Table 1 Laboratory <br /> reports for all tests are included in Appendix C <br /> ' <br /> 53.1 GROUNDWATER ANALYTICAL RESULTS <br /> A total of three groundwater samples were collected on December 18, 2000 and submitted for <br /> laboratory analysis The groundwater samples had no detectable concentrations of TPH-D, BTEX, or <br /> ' MTBE <br />
