k" K E E IN F E L D F R <br /> 1 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY <br /> This is a report of Kleinfelder's fourth quarter 2000 and first quarter 2001 groundwater <br />' monitoring, which was conducted as part of a continuing assessment at the General Mills Facility <br /> located at 2000 West Turner Road located in Lodi, California Mr Wade Broughton retained <br /> Kleinfelder to conduct the monitoring based upon Kleinfelder's proposal titled "Proposal/Cost <br />' Estimate, Quarterly Groundwater Sampling, Pre-Abandonment Underground Storage Tank <br /> Assessment, General Mills Facility, 2000 West Turner Road, Lodi, California", dated October <br />' 10, 2000 <br /> Two groundwater samples were collected from a single monitonng well MW-1 during the October <br />' 2000 and January 2001 sampling events The groundwater samples were analyzed for extractable <br /> hydrocarbons and gasoline constituent's benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes (BTEX) <br /> dunng both sampling events Purgeable hydrocarbons as referenced to gasoline were also analyzed <br />' during the January 2001 sampling event at the request of San Joaquin County Public Health <br /> Services Department,Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) <br /> No product or sheen was observed in the groundwater samples collected during either sampling <br /> event, although a slight sheen and petroleum like odor was noted in the purge water <br /> The depth to groundwater was approximately 32 58 feet bgs in October 2000 and 33 03 feet bgs in <br /> January 2001 At the time the local groundwater flow direction was unknown, although PHS/EHD <br /> has indicated that a southwestern groundwater flow direction is prevalent in that area <br /> The analytical results for the groundwater samples collected from MW-1 are summarized in <br /> Table 2 and in Section 5 <br /> Total petroleum hydrocarbons as referenced to diesel (TPH-D) was detected in groundwater <br />' samples collected from MW-1 during the October 2000 and January 2001 sampling events at <br /> concentrations ranging from 14 4 to 18 6 mg/l Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes <br /> (BTEX) were not detected from groundwater samples collected from MW-1 during these two <br />' sampling events Total petroleum hydrocarbons as referenced to gasoline (TPH-G), which was <br /> analyzed for the first time in January 2001 was detected in the groundwater sample collected <br /> from MW-1 at 3 3 mg/1 <br /> For additional findings including conclusions and recommendations please refer to Section 6 of <br /> this report - <br />' This report and the conclusions and recommendations presented, are subject to the "Limitations" <br /> presented in Chapter 7 of this report Anyone other than the client, who wishes to use this <br /> document must complete the "Application for Authorization to Use" which is included as an <br /> appendix to this report <br /> 20-1417-16 E031201 I R259 Page 1 of I I <br /> Copyright 2001 Kleinfelder Inc February 28 2001 <br />
