1
Ground Water Monitoring Report - First Quarter 2002
• PLAZA LIQUORS II
2420 West Turner Road, Lodi, California
' 1.0. INTRODUCTION
' At the request of Mr Robert McCarty,Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE)has prepared this
quarterly report for the property located at 2420 West Turner Road, Lodi, California The site and
the surrounding area are illustrated in Figure 1 On-site structures and monitoring well locations are
' illustrated on Figure 2 The scope of work included conducting a quarterly ground water monitoring
event and preparation of this report Background information and ground water monitoring
procedures for the site are summarized in AGE's work plan titled Preliminary Site Assessment Work
' Plan, dated 19 November 1999 The objective of the work was to monitor dissolved petroleum
hydrocarbon concentrations in ground water and to characterize ground water flow direction and
gradient on the site
2.0. PROCEDURES
' Field work was conducted and this report was prepared in accordance with guidelines issued by the
Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) for subsurface investigation
' of underground storage tank (UST) sites and guidelines issued by San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department (EHD) for sampling ground water monitoring wells
' 2 1 WELL MONITORING AND EVACUATION
rOn 16 January 2002, the depth to ground water in all four monitoring wells was measured from the
top of each well casing to the nearest 0 01-foot utilizing a Solinst water level meter Ground water
elevation in each well was calculated by subtracting the measured depth to ground water from the
surveyed casing elevation (Table 1)
After water levels were gauged, casing water in the monitoring wells was evacuated using disposable
plastic bailers Approximately 7 5 gallons of water(a minimum of 3 casing-water volumes per well)
were removed from each well Ground water temperature, pH and conductivity were measured at
regular intervals during purging using an Oakton water analyzer Field sheets and data are included
in Appendix A Purged water was stored on-site in labeled, 55-gallon DOT-approved drums
2 2 COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
IWater samples were collected from each purged well using new disposable plastic bailers after
• allowing the wells to achieve a minimum 80%recovery of the pre-purge water volume Each water
sample was transferred into one 1-liter amber bottle without sample preservative and into three
Advanced GeoEnvi ron mental,Inc
