07 June 2000
• AGE-NC Project No 99-0657
' 2 5 MONITORING WELL PURGE PROCEDURES
Ground water sampling of the on site wells was conducted on 05 March 2000 For the sampling
' event, a Solinst water level meter was used to measure the depth to ground water in the four wells
relative to the tops of the well casings The ground water elevations and gradient were determined
from these data (Table 1)
' After recording water level measurements, a submersible pump was used to purge each monitonng
well of standing water Approximately 8 gallons of water(mimmum of 3 water volumes per well)
' were removed from each well Ground water temperature, pH and conductivity were measured at
regular intervals dunng purging using a Hydac water analyzer Field sheets and data are included in
IAppendix B Purged water was stored on-site in labeled, 55-gallon DOT-approved drums
' 2 6 COLLECTION OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
Water samples were collected from each purged well using new disposable plastic bailers Each
'• water sample was transferred into 40-m1 VOA vials containing 0 5 ml 18% hydrochloric acid as a
sample preservative, and 1-liter amber bottles without sample preservative After collection, the
samples were properly labeled, placed in a chilled container and transported under chain-of-custody
' to AAL, and were analyzed for
• TPH-g and TPH-d in accordance with EPA Methods 8015 Modified,
' 0 BTEX in accordance with EPA Method 8020,
• DIPE, ETBE, MTBE, TAME and TBA in accordance with EPA Method 8260 Modified,
' 1,2 Dichloroethane in accordance with EPA Method 601 and,
' 1,2 Dibromoethane in accordance with EPA Method 8021A
' 27 SURVEYING
The casing elevation of each well installed for the Plaza Liquors investigation was surveyed relative
' to City of Lodi Bench Mark # 344 On 26 April 2000, a California state-licensed survey engineer
from Baumbach & Piazza, Inc surveyed a reference point on the top of each ground water
' monitoring well at the site to the nearest 0 01-foot relative to the City of Lodi Bench Marks and
Description at 41 50 feet above mean sea level (ms]) The results of the monitoring well survey are
contained in Table 1 The surveying report (Baumbach &Piazza) is presented in Appendix C
1
Advanced GeoEmoronmentol,Inc
I
