1 -
' Quarterly Report - First Quarter 2003
PLAZA LIQUORS II
2420 West Turner Road, Lodi, California
' 1.0• INTRODUCTION
At the request of Mr Robert McCarty,Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE) has prepared this
quarterly report for the property located at 2420 West Turner Road, Lodi, California The scope of
work Included performance of a quarterly ground water monitoring event and preparation of this
report The site and the surrounding area are illustrated in Figure 1 On-site structures and monitoring
well locations are illustrated on Figure 2 Site Background information is summarized in Appendix A
2.0. PROCEDURES
Field work was performed in accordance with guidelines established by the Central Valley Regional
Water Quality Control Board(CVRWQCB)for the investigation of underground storage tank(UST)
sites
• 2 1 WELL MONITORING AND EVACUATION
On 06 January2003, the depth to ground water in all eight monitoring wells was measured from the
P ' g
top of each well casing to the nearest 0 01-foot utilizing a Solinst water level meter Ground water
elevation in each well was calculated by subtracting the measured depth to ground water from the
surveyed casing elevation (Table 1)
After recording water level measurements, dedicated disposable plastic bailers were used to purge
the wells of standing water Approximately 7 0 to 8 0 gallons ofwater (a rrunimum of 3 casing-water
I volumes per well) were removed from wells MW through MW4, MW7 and MW8 Approximately
2 0 to 4 0 gallons of water were removed from wells MW5 and MW6 before the wells were purged
near-dry Ground water temperature, pH and conductivity were measured at regular intervals during
I purging using an Oakton water analyzer Field sheets and data are included in Appendix B Purged
water was stored in properly labeled DOT-approved andel 17H 55-gallon drums and stored on-site
22 COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
Water samples were collected from each purged well using new disposable plastic bailers after
allowing the wells to achieve a muiimum 80% recovery of the pre-purge water volume Each water
sample was transferred into one 1-liter amber bottle without sample preservative and into three 40-m1
VOA vials containing 0 5 ml 18% hydrochloric acid as a sample preservative After collection, the
. samples were properly labeled, placed in a chilled container and transported under chain-of-custody
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
I
