The site is presently on a quarterly monitoring program and
that will continue without change. Certain additional
requirements of the Regional. Board related to the Waste
Discharge Requirements may be added including the regular
sampling of the carbon filtration system.
During the first 1-3 months of system operation water
levels, pumping rate and line pressures will be monitored
frequently in order to assess the efficacy of the hydraulic
control scheme. Adjustments to the recovery well pumping
rate will be made as warranted by the field data. A log will
be maintained recording all measurements
of in system the
parameters including the dissolved oxygen
reinjected water. A totalizing flowmeter will be installed
within the pump control panel to document recovered volumes.
5.4 Site Closure
- An estimate of the timeframe of remediation is difficult to
make due to uncertainties regarding aquifer properties and
the true distribution of dissolved hydrocarbons in the
subsurface. The reduction of dissolved levels will be
monitored over the quarterly sampling rounds and an effort
made to predict total remediation time.
Request for site closure will be based upon the sampling
results over at least one complete hydrologic cycle.
6.0 REFERENCES
ySan Joaquin County Flood Control and Water Conservation
District, 1975, 1980, 1984, 1987, Semi-Annual Groundwater
Reports
6
