oil
M Mprqnen
October 12, 1989
Mr. Stephen Manildi FNj/., 1196
Administrative Manager pf '►IjM
Sebastiani Vineyards/Woodbridge Cellars 1/7 F
4614 West Turner Road
Lodi, CA 95258
Dear Mr. Manildl:
McLaren is pleased to submit this addendum to the June 28, 1989 Sebastiani
Vineyards/Woodbridge Cellars Site Assessment Report. Presented iai this
addendum are the analytical results from the most recent sampling of the
groundwater monitoring wells installed previously at the Sebastiani
Vineyards site, located at 4614 West Turner Road, Lodi, California.
Introduction
In accordance with the August 3, 1989 letter from the California Regional
Water Quality Control Board (CRWQCB) and the September 22, 1989 letter
from the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division (SJCEHD), the
ten existing groundwater monitoring wells and the primary supply well were
resampled to obtain additional information regarding the groundwater
contamination previously detected at the site.
Sample collection and Analysis
The groundwater samples were collected by purging a minimum of three
casing volumes from each monitoring well prior to bailing the water
samples. The primary supply well was purged for approximately five
minutes by running the well's turbine pump at its normal operating rate
into the plant's pressure tank. The primary supply well water sample was
taken from a 1/4-inch sample port located at the wellhead.
Monitoring wells MW-1, MW-3, and MW-6 were sampled on September 12, 1989.
The samples were analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons/gasoline range
(TPH/G) and benzene, toluene, Xylenes and ethylbenzene (BTXE). Well
locations are shown on Figure 1. On September 20, 1989, monitoring wells
MW-1, MW-3, and MW-6 were sampled and the samples were analyzed for
ethylene dibromide and organic lead. Monitoring wells MW-2, MW-4, MW-5,
*0.J-7, MW-8, MW-9, and MW-10 were also sampled on September 20, 1989.
These samples were analyzed for TPH/G and BTXE. The primary supply well
was sampled on September 26, 1989 and analyzed for TPH/G and BTXE.
Results and Discussion
Tie TPH-and BTXE analytical results- for all-samples -collected from the
groundwater monitoring wells are summarized in Table 1. This table also
