28 February 2001
AGE-NC Project No. 00-0795
3.3. ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLE
Sample P4W-02/12/01 contained TPH-d and toluene at concentrations of 130 micrograms per liter
(µg/1) and 0.68 µg/l,respectively. HVOCs were not detected above laboratory reporting limits in the
ground water sample analysis.
The analytical result of the ground water sample is summarized in Table 1. The laboratory report
(MAI Lab Number 60015) and chain-of-custody form are included in Appendix B.
4.0. DISCUSSION
The lack of detectable concentrations of the target analytes in the soil samples analyzed suggests that
the detected analytes in the ground water sample may not be the result of a release from the former
USTs. The concentrations of TPH-d and toluene detected in the water sample are so low that AGE
believes that it is unlikely that the PHS-EHD or CVRWQCB will require further investigation at this
time.
5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based upon data collected from the site, AGE recommends no additional assessment of the
subsurface at this time. However, AGE does recommend proper disposal of sludge and waste water
and subsequent removal of the sand, oil and water separator located on the north portion of the
property to prevent any potential future unauthorized release of contamination.
6.0. LIMITATIONS
Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily exercised by
environmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities. The findings were based mainly
upon analytical results provided by an independent laboratory. Evaluations of the geologic/
hydrogeologic conditions at the site for the purpose of this investigation are made from a limited
number of available data points (i.e. grab ground water samples and soil samples) and subsurface
conditions may vary away from these data points. No other warranty, expressed or implied, is made
as to the professional recommendations contained in this report.
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
