18 DISPOSITION OF WASTEWATER
The 70 gallons of wastewater that were generated from purging of the monitor wells and
decontamination of the purging and sampling equipment were transported via a non
hazardous waste manifest to Instrat, Inc , a licensed recycling facility
GROUNDWATER GRADIENT AND FLOW DIRECTION
Figure 4 shows the groundwater elevation gradient and flow direction determined from
depth to water measurements at the four on-site monitor wells on March 8, 2005 The
groundwater elevation has increased by an average of 1 6 feet since the previous
quarterly monitoring round on December 6, 2004 The flow direction is to the
East/Southeast The overall gradient is 0 002 feet/linear foot
The groundwater elevation data from the monitor wells associated with 1201 South
Center were not used to determine groundwater gradient and flow direction for 1211
South Turnpike because of unresolved differences in the elevation datum points used by
the licensed land surveyors for the two sites
RESULTS OF CERTIFIED ANALYSIS OF GROUNDWATER SAMPLES
The results of the certified analyses of groundwater samples collected from the four
monitor wells on March 8, 2004 are shown in Table 1 Copies of the laboratory reports
are included as Appendix C of this report
TPH-G concentrations in MWl-MW3 ranged from a maximum of 1,700 ug/I at monitor
well MWI to 760 ug/1 at monitor well MW2 TPH-G was not detected in monitor well
MW-9A that is located approximately 60 feet east of MW3 and associated with the
neighboring property at 1201 S Center (see Figure 5) Monitor well MW4, completed in
a lower aquifer, showed a TPH-G concentration of 180 ug/1
Benzene concentrations in MWI-MW3 ranged from a maximum of 640 ug/1 at MW3 to
230 ug/1 at MW2 Monitor well MW4 showed a Benzene concentration of<0 5 ug/1
MTBE concentrations in MWI-MW3 ranged from a maximum of 8 8 ug/1 at MW3 to 1 5
ug/l at MW2 MTBE was not detected above 0 5 ug/I in MW4
TBA was not detected in any of the four monitor wells above the laboratory limits that
ranged between 5 0 and 10 ug/L The remaining fuel oxygenants, ETBE, DIPE, and
TAME were not found above the laboratory detection limits of 0 5 to 1 0 ug/L in any of
the four monitor wells
The lead scavengers 1,2 Dichloroethane (DCA) and 1,2 Dibromoethane (DBA or EDB)
were not found in any of the monitor wells above the laboratory detection limits that
ranged between 0 5 and 1 0 ug/L
3 Arc Pump QM 1-3, 2005
