The groundwater in the vicinity of the site is unconfined Groundwater elevation at the
site varies from a wet year high of 25 feet bgs to at least 50 feet bgs during the previous
drought period Groundwater flow direction at the site has varied from north to south
through the northeast and southeast quadrants
QUARTERLY MONITORING, 5/22102, 8112102, AND 11/21/02
WEGE and Pittman Well Purging (PWP) collected quarterly groundwater samples from
the four monitor wells at the site on May 22, 2002, August 12, 2002, and November 21,
2002 See Appendix A for QA/QC, details, methods, procedures, abbreviations, and
acronyms used in sampling and analysis See Appendix B for copies of the field data
sheets
DEPTH TO WATER MEASUREMENTS
WEGE measured depth to water m all four wells on May 22, 2002, August 12, 2002, and
November 21, 2002 The measurements were made from the surveyed elevation datum
at the top of casing at each well using an electrical air/water interface probe (Table 1)
No free product or product sheen was observed in any of the monitor wells
COLLECTION AND CERTIFIED ANALYSIS OF GROUNDWATER SAMPLES
Following depth to water measurements, PWP purged approximately three well volumes
of water from each well using a truck mounted vacuum lift pump and dedicated one inch
diameter PVC tubing The volume of water purged from each well is noted on the field
data sheets (see Appendix B)
After purging, the wells were allowed to recover to at least 80% of their original well
volumes A groundwater sample was then collected from each well with a disposable
polyethylene bailer and decanted with no head space into four 40 ml VOA vials
containing 0 5 ml HCL acid as a preservative
The samples were delivered with accompanying chain of custody documentation to Kiff
Analytical Laboratories(DHS Certification#2236) The certified laboratory analyzed the
groundwater samples from each monitor well for concentrations of TPH-G and BTEX
and MTBE using EPA method 8260B
DISPOSITION OF WASTEWATER
The 191 gallons of wastewater that were generated from purging of the monitor wells
during the three quarterly monitoring rounds were temporarily contained on-site in
labeled 55 gallon dot approved drums. Approximately 100 gallons of the wastewater was
transported by M P Environmental on October 17, 2002 to their recycling facility under a
non hazardous waste manifest.
2 Are Pomn OM 4-12. 2002
