EHD has a contract with California
State Water Resourc s Control Board (SWRCB) to conduct an underground storage
.tank corrective action program. On February 17,1989 an Unauthorized Release Report
was filed for the abov referenced site and the site was placed in the EHD Local
Oversight Program (L OP) in March 1992.
EHD has reviewed th Quarterly Report prepared by Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc
(AGE) dated May 11, 2004, and has the following comments. The report submitted to
this office contains gr Dundwater analytical results for the sampling event that occurred
on March 30, 2004. total of fifteen Monitoring Wells (MWs) were monitored and
sampled. Eight of th fifteen MWs sampled contain gasoline constituents or gasoline
additives (i.e. 1,2 DC ) above laboratory detection limits.
The extent of ground ater contamination extending from the former UST source area
both laterally and ve ically remains undefined. Groundwater contamination east of the
former UST in the sh allow zone is not defined as evidenced by results from MW-5.
Sample results from W-6, MW-96, and MW-11 B indicate that further definition is
required; vertically ai d laterally (north and south) of MW-9B and MW-11 B. Also, soil
and groundwater sar iple results from CPT-1 indicate that soil and groundwater
contamination benee th hydro geologic unit 2 (45-75 feet) requires further investigation.
A groundwater extra tion well (EX-1) was installed near the former UST location. EX-1
well data should be evaluated and a groundwater aquifer/pump and treat feasibility
study should be considered. After this additional data is collected and if applicable,
interim groundwater corrective action can be considered.
