e • • Page 1 of 3
Vicki McCartney [EH]
From: Vicki McCartney [E ]
Sent: Thursday, August 3), 2012 9:25 AM
To: 'tcuellar@advgeoe v.com'
Cc: Bill Little; Nuel Henderson [EH]; greg@comfortairinc.com
Subject: RE: Comfort Air, 1 7 Turnpike Rd., Stockton CA
Tim:
Nuel Henderson, PG, a d I have reviewed the information provided in your email
dated 29 August 2012 and now approve the installation of dual-phase extraction
well DPE-2, screened between 25 and 45 feet below surface grade, at the Comfort
Air site located at 1603 Turnpike Road in Stockton, California.
I will post the 30-day public participation notice at the site today. The public has
until 30 September 20 2 to comment. You may proceed with the installation of
the dual-phase extract on system at that time unless notified otherwise by the San
Joaquin County Enviro mental Health Department.
Vicki McCartney, Senior REHS
San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Departm nt
1868 East Hazelton Avenue
Stockton, California 95205
Phone: (209)468-9852
Email: vmccartney@sjcehd.c m
From: Tim Cuellar [mai o:tcuellar@advgeoenv.com]
Sent: Wednesday, August 29, 2012 11:05 AM
To: Vicki McCartney [E ]
Cc: Bill Little; Nuel Hen erson [EH]; greg@comfortairinc.com
Subject: Comfort Air, 1507 Turnpike Rd., Stockton CA
Vicki,
AGE has reviewec further the request within the EHD letter (dated 07/26/12)
for the Comfort A r site. The letter states that the EHD has reviewed the
Corrective Action Plan (CAP) dated 06/25/12, in which AGE concluded that
high vacuum DPE was the most viable option to remediate the vadose zone,
capillary fringe ar d upper saturated zone (i.e. depths between 10' and 45'
bsg). The CAP also recommended the installation of 2 DPE wells screened at
depths between 0'-30' (DPE-1) and between 25'-45' (DPE-2). However in
the letter, the EH stated that additional information was needed to justify
the proposed screen interval at depths between 25'-45', and that it was
necessary to demonstrate to the EHD that draw-down will occur at DPE-2 to
de-water the well for actual dual phase extraction to occur.
8/30/2012
