05 June 2008
AGE-NC Project No. 95-0141
of after one use, requiring no decontaminating, and the Teflon tubing used with the inertia pump is
either dedicated to each well or changed at each sampling event, thereby minimizing cross
contamination due to sampling devices. Samples will be drawn and collected in such a manner that
agitation and exposure of the ground water to the atmosphere are minimal.
3.6.4. Sample Handling
Ground water samples will be collected into laboratory supplied containers. Ground water samples
will be analyzed for TPH-g, BTEX, DIPE, TAME,EDB, and 1,2-DCA; samples will be collected
into laboratory-supplied 40-m1 volatile organic analysis (VOA) vials without preservative.
Following collection, samples will be placed on ice and kept in a cooler until delivered to the CDPH-
certified laboratory for analysis. Chain-of-custody protocols will be used to document sample
custody transfer from the field to the analytical laboratory.A chain-of-custody form will accompany
the samples.
3.7. EQUIPMENT DECONTAMINATION
All sampling tools used for sample collection will be thoroughly rinsed with clean water after being
washed with a solution of Alconox. All down-hole drilling and sampling equipment will be pressure
washed prior to starting each boring.
3.8. BORING ABANDONMENT
All soil probe borings and soil borings not completed as monitoring wells will be permanently sealed
to prevent vertical migration of potential contaminants. Soil borings shall be abandoned by
backfilling with bentonite or cement-bentonite slurry from the total depth to surface grade. The EHD
will be notified for grout inspection at least 48 hours prior to conducting grouting procedures.
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
