Water samples collected in previous monitoring events indicate that groundwater is impacted
to the north, west and south of the tank cavity. The present investigation indicated that low
' concentration of petroleum hydrocarbons are present near the eastern edge of the site It
is likely that MW-5 is located near the downgradient (eastward) extent of the impacted
' groundwater plume.
However, the concentrations of toluene and xylenes in MW-5 do not exceed the State of
California Maximum Contaminant Levels (MCL) or Action Levels (AL) for drinking water
The AL for toluene is 100 ppb, the MCL for xylene is 1,750 ppb
' A limited pumping of MW-2 or MW-3 has been proposed to determine the effect of Iimited
groundwater extraction on the contaminant plume Upon approval from Comfort Air, Inc,
the limited extraction will be scheduled during the next quarter The next quarterly
Imonitoring event should be scheduled in September 1994
' 6.0 LIMITATIONS
Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily
exercised by environmental consultants practicing in this or similar locahties The findings
were based upon analytical results provided by an independent laboratory Evaluations of
the geologw/hydrogeologic conditions at the site for the purpose of this investigation are
made from a limited number of available data points (n a monitoring wells, soil samples)
and subsurface conditions may vary away from these data points No other warranty,
expressed or implied, is made as to the professional recommendations contained in this
rreport
I
t,1,P1 nrdq sem .. 9
CenbM1 1[9Y IaUIT SJ14,Rrr1991
I
