1
•
' 05 September 2002
AGE-NC Project No 95-0141
' TPH-
g was detected in. ground water samples collected from four of the eight monitoring
' wells at the site (MW 1 through MW-3 and MW-6) Conc6ntrations as high as 69,000 µg11
were detected
• BTEX constituents were detected in four of the eight ground water monitoring wells with
' concentrations as high as 11,000 gg/1 benzene, 14,000 99/1 toluene, 2,700 µg/1 ethylbenzene
and 11,400 gg/I total xylenes in the water samples from MW-1
• Fuel oxygenates were not detected in any of the ground water samples collected
• 1,2-DCA was detected in ground water samples collected from six of the eight monitoring
wells at the site at concentrations as high as 61 119/1 (MW-7) 1,2-DCA was not detected in
' the ground water samples collected from MW-1 and MW--4, historically the highest
concentrations of the analyte have been detected in samples collected from MW_1 An
explanation for the non-detection of 1,2-DCA in MW-1 is unknown EDB was not detected
' above laboratory reporting limits in the samples collected during the August 2002 monitoring
event
. The horizontal and vertical extent of contamination related to the farmer UST has not yet
been defined in soil or ground water
' S.O. RECOMMENDATIONS
IBased on the results of this and previous investigations, AGE recommends
• Continued quarterly monitoring of the ground water monitoring network
' AGE submitted Work Plan Addendum to the EHD on 09 April 2002 to abandon
three ground water monitoring wells, install additional shallow and deep ground water monitoring wells,
install one ground water extraction well and performance of a ground water extraction feasibility
test, the work plan was approved by the EHD by letter dated 07 May 2002 The proposed work is
being scheduled
G.O. LIMITATIONS
Our professional services were performed usingthat degree gree of care and skill ordinarily exercised by
environmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities The findings were based mainly
upon analytical results provided by an independent laboratory Evaluations of the hydrogeologic
conditions at the site have been made from a limited number of available data points (i a monitoring
wells and ground water samples) and subsurface conditions may vary away from these data points
Advanced Geohnvironraentai,Inc
