i
I30 April 2005
• AGE-NC Project No 95-0141
MW-813 (Table 1)
Wells MW-5, MW-7, MW-8A through MW-12A and EX-1 were used to determine ground water
flow direction and gradient for shallow groundwater The shallow groundwater was inferred to flow
generally toward the east-southeast,at a gradient of 0 002 foot per foot(ft/ft) Figure 5 illustrates the
contoured shallow ground water elevations as measured on 23 December 2004 Ground water
elevation data from well MW-3 was not used to determine ground water gradient and flow direction,
the data appears to be anomalous
Wells MW-6 and MW-813 through MW-12B were used to determine ground water flow direction
and gradient for the deep ground water zone The deep ground water was inferred to flow generally
towards the southwest and southeast, at a gradient of 0 002 to 0 004 ft/ft Figure 6 illustrates the
contoured deep ground water elevations as measured on 23 December 2004
3 4 ANALYTICAL RESULTS FROM GROUND WATER SAMPLES
The analytical results of the ground water samples were as follows
• TPH-g was detected in ground water samples collected from wells MW-3, MW-5, MW-6,
MW-8A,MW-8B, MW-11B and EX-1 at concentrations ranging from 110 micrograms per
liter (µg/1) in MW-8A to 140,000 µg/1 in EX-1
• Various BTEX compounds were detected in samples MW-3, MW-5, MW-6, MW-7,
IMW-8A, MW-813, MW-9A, MW-913, MW-11B and EX-1 at concentrations as high as
17,000 µg/1 of benzene, 40,000 µg/l of toluene, 5,500 µg/l of ethylbenzene and 29,700 µg/1
of xylenes from well EX-1
• 1,2-DCA was detected in ground water samples collected from all wells except MW-813,
MW-10A, MW10-13, MW-11A, MW-12A, MW-12B and MW-13 1,2-DCA was detected
' at concentrations ranging from 2 7 µg/l (MW-9A) to 370 µg/l (EX-1)
• EDB was detected in ground water sample EX-1 at a concentration of 230 µg/1
The areal extent of TPH-g- and 1,2-DCA-impacted shallow and deep ground water is illustrated on
Figures 7 and 8,respectively,the vertical extent of hydrocarbon-impacted ground water is illustrated
in crossectional view on Figures 9 and 10 Laboratory results of water samples analyzed are
summarized in Tables 2,3,6 and 7 The laboratory reports for the quarterly monitoring event(CTEL
Project Numbers CT214-0412213 and CT214-0412237), quality assurance and quality control
(QA/QC) reports and chain of custody form are included in Appendix F GeoTracker confirmation
pages of the submitted laboratory electronic deliverable format files are included in Appendix G
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
