' Quarterly Report - Fourth Quarter 2005
• COMFORT AIR, INC.
' 1607 Turnpike Road, Stockton, California
' I.0. INTRODUCTION
At the request of Mr Greg Gaut, Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE) has prepared this
' quarterly report of environmental activities conducted at Comfort Air, Inc , 1607 Turnpike Road,
Stockton, California (site) The scope of work included performance of a quarterly ground water
monitoring event and preparation of this report The objective of the work was to characterize ground
' water flow direction and gradient on the site and monitor dissolved petroleum hydrocarbon and fuel
additive concentrations from monitoring well samples The location of the site is illustrated in
' Figure 1 A plan of the site is illustrated in Figure 2
This report is prepared in accordance with guidelines issued by the Central Valley Regional Water
' Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB)for investigation of underground storage tank(UST) sites A
summary of previous environmental assessment activities are included in Appendix A Historical
ground water monitoring results are summarized on Tables 1 and 2
I
2.0. PROCEDURES
• Field activities were performed in accordance with guidelines for investigation of underground
storage tank(UST)sites and sampling groundwater monitoring wells issued by the CVRWQCB and
by the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD), respectively
2 1 QUARTERLY WELL MONITORING
On 03 November 2005,a ground water monitoring event was conducted at the site A total of sixteen
wells were monitored and sampled
2 1 1 Well Monitoring and Evacuation
A Solinst water level meter was used to measure the depth to ground water in wells MW-3, MW-5,
MW-6, MW-7, MW-8A/B through MW-12A/B (except for MW-1 IA), MW-13 and EX-1 relative
to the tops of the well casings (Table 1) Well MW-I IA was inaccessible for purging or sampling
due to a car parked directly over it However, depth to ground water was able to be measured After
the depth-to-ground-water measurements were recorded for each well, a minimum of three casing-
water volumes of water were purged from each well using Watera Hydro-Lift II pump for wells
MW-3,MW-5,MW-7 and MW-8A through MW-I3 Approximately 4 5 to 14 gallons ofwater were
removed from shallow-screened wells MW-3, MW-5, MW-7 and MW-8A through MW-12A,
I approximately 21 to 27 gallons of water were removed from deep-screened wells MW-813,MW-1 OB,
1
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
