INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE OF WORK <br /> At the request of Mr Greg Gaut, Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE) has prepared this <br /> Monitoring Well Installation Report-Fourth Quarter 2000 for Comfort Air, 1607 Turnpike Road, <br /> Stockton, California (site) The location of the site is illustrated in Figure 1, a plan of the site is <br />' illustrated in Figure 2 <br /> The scope of work included the advancement and collection of soil samples from three soil borings, <br /> completion of the soil borings as monitoring wells and collection of ground water samples from the <br /> three newly installed wells Ground water samples were also collected from five existing monitoring <br /> wells In addition, select soil and ground water samples were shipped for analysis to a California <br />' Department of Health Services (DHS) - certified laboratory This report is prepared in accordance <br /> with guidelines established by the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board for <br /> investigation of underground storage tank(UST) sites <br /> . <br /> 2.0. BACKGROUND <br />' The UST removal and Prelirmnary Site Assessment procedures and findings were presented in <br /> Quarterly Report--February 1997 and Monitoring Well Installation WorkPlan-July 1998,prepared <br />' by AGE <br />' 2 1 SITE LOCATION <br /> The Comfort Air facility is a heating and air conditioning sales and repair business located at 1607 <br />' Turnpike Road, Stockton, California, in an area of low topographic relief in southwestern Stockton <br /> The site is located in section 10, Township 1 north, Range 6 east, Mount Diablo Base and Meridian <br /> (Figure 1) The surrounding area is utilized for residential and light industrial purposes The Port of <br />' Stockton lies approximately two miles northwest of the site <br />' 22 REGIONAL GEOLOGIC SETTING <br /> The property is located within the Great Valley Geomorphic Province of California, a large, elongate <br />' northwest trending, asymmetric structural trough The Great Valley Province has been filled to its <br /> present elevation with thick sequences of sediment ranging in age from Jurassic to Recent, creating <br /> a nearly flat lying alluvial plain, extending from the Tehachapi Mountains in the south to the <br />' Klamath Mountains in the north The western and eastern boundaries of this province are comprised <br /> • of the California Coast Range and the Sierra Nevada Mountains, respectively Rocks composing the <br />' basement complex of the province have not been completely defined but are believed to be <br /> Advanced GeoEnviromneatal,Inc <br /> I <br />
