Quarterly Report - June 1998
COMFORT AIR, INC.
1607 Turnpike Road
Stockton, California
I1.0. INTRODUCTION
IIn accordance with a request from Mr Greg Gaut of Comfort Alar,Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc
(AGE) has prepared this Quarterly Report for 1607 Turnpike Road, Stockton, California The
I location of the site and the immediately surrounding area are illustrated on Figure 1 Site structures
and monitoring well locations are depicted on Figure 2
I The objective of the work was to monitor dissolved petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations in ground
water and to characterize ground water flow direction and gradient on the site This report is
prepared in accordance with guidelines established by the San Joaquin County Public Health
I Services - Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) and the Central Valley Regional Water
Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) for investigation of underground storage tank(UST) sites A
summary of previous investigations at the site was included in the Quarterly Report - February
I1997, dated 18 April 1997, prepared by AGE
2.0. PROCEDURES
21 MONITORING WELL PURGE PROCEDURES
IOn 23 June 199$ the depth p to ground water in each monitoring well (MW-1 through MW 5) was
I measured to the nearest 0 01-foot utilizing a Solist water level meter Ground water elevations from
MW-1 through M W-5 were then calculated by subtracting the measured depth to ground water from
the surveyed casing elevations (Table 1) Ground water elevations were plotted and contoured on
Ia scaled site map (Figure 3)
Following depth to ground water measurements, Mr Harlin Knoll of the PHS-EHD reviewed the
I ground water monitoring data and recommended that only well MW-3 be sampled during this
monitoring event Subsequently, approximately rune gallons(a minimum of three well volumes) of
water was purged from well MW-3 utilizing a two-stage submersible pump Temperature, pH and
conductivity were measured at regular purge-volume intervals using an ICM Model 52200 water
analyzer, to monitor for stabilization of these characteristics Stabilization data and field logs are
included with Appendix A Purged ground water was containerized in 55-gallon drums and stored
Ion-site in an area lacking general public access
Advanced GeoEnvcronmental,Inc
