SUNNYVALLEY SMOKED MEATS, INC. <br />Violation # 301 Facility not maintained to minimize the release of a hazardous waste. <br />Hazardous Waste Storage <br />-Two empty 55 -gallon drums observed with hydraulic oil accumulating on top of lid. <br />- New lids have been purchased to prevent this from re -occurring. (see photo) <br />-Three empty SS -gallon drums observed with residue and stains on drums. <br />- Drums will be kept clean while on our facility. (see photos) <br />-Hazardous waste storage area observed with absorbent, used absorbent, and used oil spread out across <br />the concrete floor. <br />- Floor has been cleaned, will be properly maintained moving forward. (see photo) <br />-One pushcart with mechanical equipment observed with four used oil filters and used oil accumulating <br />on it. <br />-Push carts have been cleaned. Used oil filters will be maintained properly, not left lying around <br />in oil. <br />-One pushcart with two 5 -gallon buckets with used oil observed with used oil accumulating on it. <br />Used oil will be transferred into large drum immediately after use, no more accumulation in smaller <br />containers. Those are only for transporting used oil moving forward. <br />Chemical Storage Container <br />-One 375 -gallon product tank with heavy duty smoke house cleaner observed with residue on side of <br />container. <br />-Operator states he does not know if container is leaking or if it spilled during the refill process. <br />- the spillage occurs during filling of the container. Contactor has agreed to wipe down after <br />service. (see photo) <br />-Floor of chemical storage container observed accumulating cleaner solution. <br />- Contractor has told me that the liquid on the ground is from regular hosing down of chemical <br />storage container, this is not considered to be a hazardous waste and is kept to a minimum. <br />
