Quarterly Monitoring Report, April through June 1953, Laidlaw Corporation, 1454 Tillie <br />�, Lewis Drive, Stockton, California, Site Code 2454 <br /> Dear Ms. Turkatte: <br /> This letter is being submitted by RESNA Inoust-ies Inc (RESNA) on behalf of Laidlaw <br /> Corporation to present the results of 1993 second quarter groundwater monitoring and sampling <br />' activities at the above referenced site (Figure 1) <br /> I <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> On June 29, 1990, one 4,000-gallon underground xvlene storage tank was removed at the proyrct <br /> site by SEMCO Corp, of Modesto, California Laboratory analyses o;sou samples er�llccted from <br /> beneath the tank detected the presence cuf elevated concentrations of volatile o.aanic c^+istiiuenLa. <br /> Further investigation was necessary to determine the lateral and vertical extent of %oil and/Or <br /> groundwater contamination at the project sae. <br /> To prevent the hydrocarbon impacted material from presenting a threat to groLndwater, <br /> approximately 750 cubic yards of contaminated soils weie eYcavated from Lice piolect site on <br /> March 19 and 20, 1991. Subsequent to the collwet,on of venficat:on swil samples. the open tank <br /> p:t was backfilled with clean pea gravel zo five feet below grade.
