INTRODUCTION
Live Oak GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (Live Oak) was contracted by Juana Rosas to conduct
a Nitrate Loading Study for her property located at 1739 West Piper Place, Tracy,
California. Ms. Rosas plans to construct a new four-, five-, or six-bedroom home on the
Site.
Because of concerns of nitrate leaching into ground water from septic systems, a nitrate
loading analysis was required by the San Joaquin County Environmental Health
Department for approval of the proposed development. The study estimates the
potential concentration of percolating effluent produced by septic systems at the
proposed project over the long term. Where percolating effluent leaches into the
ground, ground-water quality may be impacted to some degree should the effluent
reach the aquifer.
The formatting of the report has been designed to follow the recommendations of the
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department as described in its Nitrate
Loading Study Requirements Checklist.
Site Description
The Assessor's Parcel Number (APN) for the Site is 255-310-34, approximately 1.55
acres in size. It is located at 1739 West Piper Place, Tracy, California (Plate 1).
Two domestic wells are located on the Site. The remainder of the Site is currently
vacant (Plate 2).
LOGE 20-21 Page 1
