("Walgreens") and hereby responds to the
June 11, 2020 Small Quantity Hazardous Waste Generator Inspection Report with respect to
hazardous waste management issues noted at store#2680. Thank you for taking the time to
discuss this matter with me and providing an extension of time to respond, to and including
July 24, 2020 to allow us to clarify certain issues with you and respond to all three Inspection
Reports in a coordinated manner. Walgreens wishes to demonstrate its good faith effort to
comply with California's hazardous waste control laws by submitting this Return to Compliance
Certification and Corrective Action Statement. As discussed below, any errors noted as stated in
the Inspection Report have been corrected.
102: Failed to Determine if Waste is Hazardous Waste. Those Walgreens'
employees with hazardous waste responsibilities have been trained and have completed a
program of online training at the store level, in addition to refresher training in person with
management. Walgreens also provides multiple store level references for assistance with waste
classification and labeling.
1. The items referenced in the inspection report were properly placed in the
"Toxic Hazardous Waste" container in accordance with Walgreens' hazardous waste program
and employee training and there was no violation of CCR 66262.11. The individual employee
questioned had just returned from leave and responded inaccurately at the time of the inspection;
management has reviewed proper procedures with the employee.
514088.1
A Professional Law Corporation
