The intent of adding Chapter 9-1420, Pond Excavation, is to provide standards for removing excess material from property for the construction of ponds for water supply and recreational purposes. The key points of the development standards are as follows: • The parcel shall be at least 20 acres in size. • The surface area of the pond shall not exceed two acres. • The pend shall be accessory to an existing residence. • No more than 35.000 cubic yards of material can be removed from the site. • The maximum depth of the pond shall not exceed 12 feet. • Cartificate of Compliance will be required by a P.egisterec Engineer or a _;censed Land Surveyor to certify that the pond excavation was completed in compliance with the approved excavation permit. • A Performance Guarantee shalt be required to ensure that the pond is constructed in accordance with the permit and to provide sufficient coverage to ensure that the site can be rehabilitated for agricultural purposes in the event the construction of the pond does not ccmciy with the permit. 7-,e bond shall remain in place for a minimum of One year after the Certificate of Compliance. • The pond shall be designed by a Registered Civil Engineer. • A Grading ?ermit is required. man ;cacuin Counr;, 7A-93-3/5rcwn Com, unity 7-'eveiccment -14-
