The intent of adding Chapter 9-1420, Pond Excavation, <br /> is to provide standards for removing excess material from property for the construction of ponds for water <br /> supply and recreational purposes. The key points of the development standards are as follows: <br /> • The parcel shall be at least 20 acres in size. <br /> • The surface area of the pond shall not exceed two acres. <br /> • The pond shall be accessory to an existing residence. <br /> • No more than 35,000 cubic yards of material can be removed from the site. <br /> • The maximum depth of the pond shall not exceed 12 feet. <br /> • A Certificate of Compliance will be required by a Registered Engineer or a Licensed Land <br /> Surveyor to certify that the pond excavation was completed in compliance with the approved <br /> excavation permit. <br /> • A Performance Guarantee shall be required to ensure that the pond is constructed in accordance <br /> with the permit and to provide sufficient coverage to ensure that the site can be rehabilitated for <br /> agricultural purposes in the event the construction of the pond does not comply with the permit. <br /> The bond shall remain in place for a minimum of one year after the Certificate of Compliance. <br /> • The pond shall be designed by a Registered Civil Engineer. <br /> • A Grading Permit is required. <br /> San Joaquin County TA-93-6/13rown <br /> Community Development Page 1 <br />
