The BTX&E & TPH soil sample at the <br /> southerly end of the tank hole contai.`ned 1 .8 ppm <br /> Xylenes and 140 ppm TPH gasoline (Sample #1 ) . <br /> See Plate #3 for - tank hole and sample location. <br /> See ppen ix soi3�lest results. <br /> PROPOSED ACTION:' This proposal is to evacuate the tank hole, take <br /> soil samples and remediate soil on site by <br /> aeration A backhoe will be used to excavate <br /> the tank hole . Soil samples will be taken at <br /> 2=1/2 foot intervals of depth from both ends of <br /> the tanki hole. Soil sample procedure will <br /> conform to LUFT = manual. Workers will not be <br /> allowed to entertank hole . In addition an OVA <br /> meter will be used as a field guide for testing <br /> contamination levels and determining when to <br /> terminate excavation. <br /> In the event contamination is more extensive <br /> then indicated and cannot be excavated, work i <br /> will stop, and the remediation plan revised to <br /> meet found conditions . <br /> The excavated hole will be backfilled with clean <br /> soil . <br /> LABORATORY <br /> ANALYSIS: All soil samples will be tested for BTX&E EPA <br /> Method 8020 and. TPH (gasoline) EPA Method <br /> 5030. Laboratory test results will be sent <br /> directly to San . Joaquin Environmental Health <br /> Department by testing,.• laboratory. <br /> GROUNDWATER: A well on , the property is located approximately <br /> 400 feet from the' tank site and the top of this' <br /> well is about 35 ' below the tank site. <br /> According to Mr . Russ Taylor, (209) 36$-1475 , of <br /> EBMUD, depth to groundwater was 65 ' in April <br /> 1991. Adding the 35 ' places groundwater about <br /> 100 feet deep below the tank . <br /> REMEDIATION OF <br /> EXCAVATED SOIL:' All contaminated soil removed from . tank hole <br /> will be placed on visqueen and covered with <br /> visqueen in preparation for aeration. Composite <br /> tests of the material will be made and a -perm <br /> Ed ae-r e will be applied for from San Joaquin <br /> County Air Pollution Control District as well as <br /> approval from .
