(VAI- TC
A S S O C I A T E S I N C
MW1, MW2, MW3, and MW5 to measure and tabulate the depth to water in observation wells at
frequent intervals The water level in well MW6 will be monitored manually A 2-inch Redi-
Flo2, submersible pump equipped with a flow meter capable of reading flows up to 10 gallons
per minute (gpm) and a discharge hose will be installed in the groundwater extraction well ATC
will use a generator to supply power to the pump Additional information on the submersible
pump is provided in Attachment 3
ATC will perform a three-step drawdown test to determine the optimal flow rate for the 48-hour
pumping test Based on these results, groundwater will be extracted from the well at a constant
rate estimated at 4 to 8 gpm for a period of 48 hours and discharged to a polyethylene storage
tank temporarily stored on site
The pump, discharge hose, and transducers will be removed from the extraction well and the
observation wells upon completion of the pumping test After the groundwater extraction test
has been completed, the groundwater stored in the polyethylene tank will be sampled and
evaluated for disposal options
Preparation of Summary Report
• A summary report will be prepared after the groundwater extraction test is complete The report
will detail results of the 48-hour groundwater extraction test and, based on those results, will
make recommendations for site remediation The report will be prepared in accordance with
California Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB) and PHS/EHD reporting
guidelines
Schedule
The 48-hour groundwater extraction test will be scheduled as soon as regulatory approval of this
workplan is received from PHS/EHD and costs for the remedial investigation are approved by
the State Cleanup Fund ATC will notify PHS/EHD at least 48 hours prior to beginning any field
activities The report will be submitted to PHS/EHD approximately four to five weeks after field
activities have been completed
w 162582\quartlyl4gr-2000 doe 6
