REVISED <br /> (6/28/90) <br /> ATTACHMENT D <br /> STATEMENT OF OVERRIDING CONSIDERATIONS <br /> FOR THE GATEWAY BUSINESS PARK PROJECT <br /> The project will result in unavoidable environmental changes, some <br /> of which may be detrimental to the area ' s residents and their <br /> environment. These detrimental changes, however, are outweighed <br /> by: <br /> 1. Utilizing a project site adjacent to a major regional freeway <br /> with reserve capacity for warehouse type uses that rely on <br /> significant truck traffic to the Bay Area ; <br /> 2 . Approval of a project that would produce a positive fiscal <br /> balance for the County; and <br /> 3 . Expanding the industrial and commercial employment <br /> opportunities for residents within San Joaquin County. The <br /> proposed project would generate approximately 900 jobs , which <br /> will attract a local labor force. This, in turn, will <br /> generate secondary economic activity in the County. <br />
