*CbCurtis & Tompkins, Ltd., Analytical Laboratories, Since 1878
2323 Fifth Street Berkeley CA 94710 Phone(510)486-0900
22 July 1993
Ms Sue Wickham
Environmental Science & Engineering
4090 Nelson Avenue
Suite J
Concord, CA 94520
RE: ESE Project# 6-92-5009
Dear Sue:
Curtis & Tompkins recently completed work (Laboratory Number 1.11480) in
support of the above-referenced pro3ect. Analyses included three
samples for Total Extractable Hydrocarbons (TEH) .
Samples identified by ESE as MW-1, Dup and MW-4 each showed diesel range
hydrocarbons quantitated at 200 ug/L. The chromatographic patterns of
these three samples are very similar; each shows a slight rise in the
baseline in the C12-•C22 (diesel) range as well a few relatively small
individual peaks. This pattern does not match that of a fresh diesel
fuel. We believe that this pattern represents either a very weathered
diesel or similar carbon range material.
Chromatograms for these samples and the diesel standard are enclosed.
If you have any further questions, please feel free to call.
Sincerely,
CURTIS & TOMPKINS, LTD.
Johft Goyette
Operations Manager
•
Berkeley Los Angeles
