1
1.0 INTRODUCTION
' This report describes the events, and presents the findings of an additional site assessment
conducted by Environmental Science & Engineering, Inc. (ESE) at the AT&T
' Communications Inc (AT&T) microwave station (site) located at J110 West Turner Road
in Lodi, California (Figure 1 - Site Location Map). ESE conducted this investigation for
' AT&T based on correspondence with the San Joaquin County Public Health Services,
Environmental Health Department (PHS/EHD). As stated in thea letter dated March 2,
' 1993, the PHS/EHD required that additional investigation of soil and ground water at the
site be conducted before site closure could be granted ESE, on the behalf of AT&T, had
' requested site closure two times prior to initiation of the this additional subsurface
investigation The purpose of this assessment was to:
• Assess if ground water is impacted with petroleum hydrocarbons downgradient of the
former tank pit, and
tPerform further assessment in the area of boring B-2Y, which reportedly contained
asphalt fill, in order to define any residual construction debris that may remain in the
' subsurface. The following report presents the procedures and methods used during
this investigation, the results of this investigation and the conclusions obtained from
' this investigation.
' 1.1 Scope of Work
' To complete the objectives for this additional subsurface investigation, ESE performed the
following tasks:
' Drilled one soil boring in the area of boring B-2Y at the edge of a former tank area
and at a location selected by Mr. Harlin Knoll of the PHS/EHD. Collected soil
samples from that boring at approximate 5 foot intervals during drilling
F\ \5925W9\ADDSASSaR r 1
1
