(Ground;Zero) is submitting this workplan for subsurface
Stv,& investigation at the above referenced property. The purpose of the proposed work is to define
the lateral and vertical limits of soil contamination related to the former underground storage
l llNl - LacT'St- &Z tank(UST)and to determine if groundwater has been affected by the release. r
Barkground
On June 9, 1992,one 3,000 gallon gasoline LIST was removed from the site(Figure 2). Notes
from PHS/EHD state that the tank was rusty but did not contain holes.. No odor or discoloration
was noted in the tank pit, except in native beneath the cast end of the tank. Two soil
CN'l l IJ1} soil samples were collected from native soil beneath the tank and analyzed for tonal petroleum
hydrocarbons as gasoline(TPHg), benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes(BTEX).
1b ,tVtA, The eastern soil sample reportedly contained 3,300 parts per million (ppm) TPHg, 20 ppm
ethylbenzene, and 210 ppm total xylenes. The western sample did not contain any detectable
7y1
UM&3 AhM-- TPHg and BTEX.
Bwwsed Scone of Work
Ground Zero proposes to mark the proposed boring locations and notify Underground Service
Alert(USA),as required by law. Subsequent to utility clearance by USA, Ground Zero will
4NtLri supervise the drilling of up to four soil borings at the locations marked on Figure 2.
