This report documents
sampling protocols and chemical data.
L.
2.0 SCOPE OF WORK
The scope of work comprised sampling the stockpiled soil removed from the former
diesel tank excavation.
2.1 Stockpile Sampling
On February 26, 1997 the approximate 1200 cubic yard stockpile was spread over a 190
foot by 170 foot area of the subject site, with an average one foot thickness.
W
On March 21,1997, the subject soil was divided into twelve equal sections, 55 feet by
47.5 feet, each containing approximately 100 yards. One soil sample was recovered from
.. a discrete location within each 100 yard section, as witnessed by Linda Turkatte of the
San Joaquin County Public Health Department, for a total of twelve samples. The
approximate sample locations are shown in Figure 2.
2.1.1 Soil Sampling Procedure
At the desired sample location, the sample was recovered by filling a 2" by 3" brass tube
completely using a Teflon gloved hand. The brass liner was then sealed with plastic caps.
Sample containers were labeled with self-adhesive tags with the following information:
1115 Merrill Street • Menlo Park, California 94025 415/325-3216
