The following identifies the violation documented in the Summary
of Violations report followed by PG&E's response:
309. CCR 66265.39 Facility not maintained to minimize the release of a hazardous waste. A crack was
observed in the secondary containment for the K-1 and K-2 electric compressors. Oil was observed on
the crack, on piping below the crack, and on the ground. During the inspection, absorbent was applied to
the oil on the ground and the above crack and pipe were cleaned. Facilities shall be maintained and
operated to minimize the possibility of a fire, explosion, or release of hazardous waste to air, soil, or
surface water which could threaten human health or the environment. Immediately fix the leak and
manage according to Title 22 hazardous waste regulations. Submit a statement when the crack is
repaired and how the waste was managed.
This is a minor violation..
PG&E applied absorbent and cleaned up oil noted on the ground. This absorbent was then placed into
our onsite oily solids accumulation drum. The crack was first cleaned and then sealed to prevent further
leakage.
Sincerely,
449-
Ralph Roberts
PG&E Senior Environmental Specialist
Att: Return to Compliance Certification
Photos of repaired ceiling and photo of oil remediation
