PHS/EHD has the following comments for your consideration.
Monitoring well, MW4, installed March 17, 1992, p ovided a downgradient well which
defined groundwater contamination. Definition of oundwater contamination was
requested prior to the submittal of a Problem Assessment Report. Please prepare a
Problem Assessment Report, exploring remedial al ernatives, to be submitted by
October 30, 1992.
The request to discontinue sampling of MW2 and IVIW3 until two quarters prior to
closure is denied. The sampling frequency of MW2 and MW3 may be further reduced
from semi-annual to annual. Total petroleum hydrocarbon-diesel analysis may be
suspended at this time, to be resumed prior to a closure request.
Continue quarterly groundwater elevation measurements of all monitoring wells and
quarterly sampling of MW1 and MW4.
As was requested in PHS/EHD correspondence dated January 3, 1992, please submit
reports, work plans and letters to both PHS/EHD d the Central Valley Regional Water
Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) until the investigation and cleanup is adequate for
closure. This will facilitate concurrent and expeditious evaluation by both agencies.
Please submit prior reports, workplan and letters which were not submitted to the
CVRWQCB.
A Division of San Joaquin County Heal Care Semces T
