The well was
drilled on March 17, 1992 to a total depth of 32 feet below grade by Spectrum Exploration using
a hollow-stem auger drill rig. Mary Meays of the San Joaquin County Public Health
Services/Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) was present to observe sample collection
and monitoring well installation.
Groundwater was initially encountered at 19.50 feet which later stabilized at 15.65 feet. The
soil boring was advanced approximately 16 feet bey nd static groundwater and converted to a
groundwater monitoring well by the installation of 2-inch diameter PVC screen, casing,
bentonite, and grout. Well construction details and PID readings are shown on the well/boring
log (Attachment 1). All soil cuttings were containerized in DOT 17H drums pending laboratory
analyses.
Sampling Procedures
Soil samples were collected at 5-foot depth intervals using a split-spoon sampler with brass
liners. The material from one sample liner was described and field screened with a
L051592.GLN
