st J?
{r
Chrono og I Dj?
AFT
601 South Vertura
Stockton CA 95206
Site Code: 1275
The site is currently used by TNT Broadway as a tricking facility which is consistent with
recent historical use. The site is located on San Joaquin County APN 140-090-01 and is
owned by the McAllister Trusts that is administered by Northern Trust of California located
at 580 California Street, Suite 1800 San Francisco CA 94104. In 1989 two underground
storage tanks were removed and soil samples collected. At the time of removal, a
petroleum hydrocarbon sheen was observed floatin 3 on the groundwater that had seeped
into the tank pit. Subsequently a series of excavat ons followed by stockpile aeration
removed and remediated the contaminated soil. Groundwater contamination was
remediated through limited pumping of water that eeped into the open excavation. Since
all contaminated soil known to exist was removed and groundwater remediation has
reduced groundwater contamination concentration , PHS/EHD recommends that the site
be issued closure/certification requiring no further action.
I 1989
k 3/9/89 Two 8,000 gallon underground storage tanks were removed this dated.
Tank #1 formerly contained diesel and tank #2 formerly contained regular
gasoline. Soil samples were collected at approximately 13.5 feet below
i grade. The analytical results are atta hed. Soil discoloration and odor were
observed as well as a sheen floating on the water that infiltrated the
common tank pit.
10/25/89 Following an excavation attempt, soil samples were collected. See the
attached table of results. A sheen or the water surface as well as petroleum
hydrocarbon odors were observed.
f
1990
i 8115/90 Three monitoring wells were installed MW1 - MW3. Odors were observed
during the installation of MW1. The soil samples that were collected did not
evidence soil contamination. See the attached soil analytical results.
Observations based on visual and olfactory senses rather than PID
i measurements. Groundwater monitoring was initiated. See the attached
f groundwater monitoring results.
1992
3/17/92 Monitoring well, MW4, was installed in a down gradient location to define .
the extent of groundwater contamina ion observed in MW 1.
1993
11/12/93 Soil samples were collected for confir nation of the contaminated soil
excavation. See the attached soil an lytical results. Approximately 54,000
gallons of groundwater was removed rom the excavation and ultimately
disposed at the City of Stockton Was ewater Treatment facility located at
2500 Navy Drive. Monitoring well MW1 was damaged during the
excavation and subsequently destroyed under permit in January 1995.
Y
i
