Provide a corrective action statement <br />and supporting documentation to the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department within 30 days. <br />This is a minor violation. <br />403 <br />CCR 66262.34(d)(2) Failed to keep hazardous waste containers closed except when adding or removing hazardous <br />waste. <br />OBSERVATION: In the painting area, one 5 gallon container holding acetone waste waiting to be recycled did not <br />have a secure lid. <br />REGULATION GUIDANCE: A container holding hazardous waste shall always be closed during transfer and <br />storage, except when it is necessary to add or remove waste. <br />CORRECTIVE ACTION: Immediately properly secure the container and ensure all hazardous waste containers are <br />closed when not adding or removing waste. Provide a corrective action statement and supporting documentation to <br />the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department within 30 days. <br />This is a minor violation. <br />603 <br />CCR 66262.34(e)(1)(C) Failed to mark initial accumulation start date on satellite containers. <br />OBSERVATION: Satellite accumulation hazardous waste containers were observed on-site without an initial date of <br />accumulation added to the label. <br />In the maintenance area, one black 55 gallons steel drum containing used oil had a hazardous waste label that was <br />missing the hazardous property and the accumulation start date. <br />In the treatment area, one black 55 gallon steel drum containing waste sludge had a hazardous waste label that was <br />missing the hazardous property and the accumulation start date. <br />In the painting area: <br />-One black 55 gallon steel drum labeled "Paint Overspray Waste" had a hazardous waste label that was missing the <br />hazardous property and the accumulation start date. <br />-One black 55 gallon steel drum containing acetone waste was missing a hazardous waste label. <br />REGULATION GUIDANCE: The initial date of waste accumulation must be clearly marked and visible for <br />inspection on each container used for satellite accumulation of hazardous waste. In addition, all hazardous waste <br />containers shall be marked with the following information: the words "Hazardous Waste", name and address of <br />generator, hazardous properties, physical state, and the composition (contents). <br />CORRECTIVE ACTION: Immediately correct all of the incomplete/missing hazardous waste labels. If the waste <br />has been stored on-site greater than one year then immediately dispose of the hazardous waste in compliance with <br />Title 22 California Code of Regulations.
