Ventura St., Stockton
Dear Ms. Meays:
This letter report is submitted by Smith Environmental Technologies Corporation (Smith
Environmental) on behalf of McAllister Trust to present field data and analytical results
associated with groundwater sampling from well MW1R at the subject site. The site location
is shown on Figure 1. The location of site monitoring wells are shown on Figure 2.
GROUNDWATER MONITORING AND SAMPLING
A Smith Environmental technician measured the depth to groundwater in monitoring wells
MW1R, MW2,' MW3; and MW4 on June 15, 1995 using an electronic water level probe.
Groundwater was present in site wells at between 10.44 to 12.33 feet below surface grade.
Grouridwater generally flows to the southeast across the site at an average gradient of
approximately 0.009 feet per feet. A potentiometric surface map of the shallow water bearing
zone is shown on Figure 3. Groundwater monitoring data are summarized in Table 1.
Subsequent to water level measurements, well MW 1R was purged of approximately five casing
volumes of groundwater. Physical parameters (pH, conductivity, temperature) were monitored
and allowed to stabilize prior to sampling. The well purge log and groundwater monitoring
data are included in Attachment 1.
Groundwater samples were collected from well MW1R using a disposable bailer. The samples
were placed immediately on ice and transported to Argon Mobile Labs (DHS Cert. #1873) and
analyzed for benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes (BTEX), TPHg and total petroleum
hydrocarbons as diesel (TPHd) using EPA methods 8020/8015 modified. TPHg, toluene,
xylenes, and ethylbenzene were detected at 320 parts per billion (ppb),.3.2 ppb, 6.0 ppb, and
5.9 ppb, respectively. No benzene or TPHd were detected in the samples.
