Following is <br /> the corrected paragraph: <br /> Reports from the District show that in 1987, five monitoring wells were <br /> installed and found contaminated with gasoline, and in June 1990 three <br /> additional monitoring wells were installed and found to be <br /> contaminated. The District's 16 September 1991 Project History report <br /> shows over 100 domestic and municipal 1wells nearby with seven <br /> domestic wells directly across West Von Sosten, one municipal well" on <br /> the District's property and!one domestic well about 1000 feet <br /> downgradient of the leak site (the scale on Figure 3 is incorrect). <br /> Definition of the plume, which would bei used to develop a plan for <br /> remediation of the site and, thereby, protect these wells, has not been <br /> completed. Guidance and directives have been provided by the San <br /> Joaquin County Public Health Service an1d Regional Board for <br /> completing the site assessment. The District should proceed with <br /> implementing them. It is':incumbent upon the District to complete the <br /> work, initiate remediation; and operate the remediation system(s) until <br /> the ground water and soil'iare cleaned ups. <br /> I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
