Box 2009
Stockton, CA 95201
PROBLEM ASSESSMENT REPORT WORK PLAN FOR LAM14ERSVILLE SCHOOL AT 16555 WEST VON
SOSTEN ROAD, TRACY, SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY
We have reviewed the 6 February 1989 work plan for site assessment work at
Lammersville School in Tracy. Generally we find the work plan acceptable, but
the proposal lacks some pertinent informati n. The following information
should be included in an addendum to this w rk plan:
1. Specify well construction details, i . ?. , screen interval , bentonite seal
thickness and location, grout thickne s, etc. A well construction
diagram is recommended and appreciated.
2. Specify the proposed analytical methods for benzene, toluene, xylene,
and ethylbenzene (BTX&E) and total petroleum hydrocarbon (TPH) analysis
for soil and water.
3. Submit a Health and Safety Plan.
4. Data for all ground water and soil sa ples collected at this site should
r be included. This data should be pre ented in table form.
5. Groundwater Technology, Incorporated, should explain their rationale for
not proposing the installation of an ipgradient monitoring well west of
the tank excavation. The contaminant plume will need to be defined
before an acceptable Problem Assessme t Report (PAR) can be completed
and proper remediation proposed.
We have the following comments on the proposed work which should -_'be
addressed when the work is conducted.
1. Freeze and store soil samples not submitted for laboratory analysis for
possible future analysis.
2. In addition to collecting soil sample at 5-foot interval's, we request
that soil samples be collected at each change in lithology.
If you have any questions, call me at (196) 361-5725.
EDWARD W.
