The scope of workincludes there <br /> excavation and sampling of the former gasoline underground storage tank (UST) area. The location. <br /> of the.-site is illustrated on.Figure 1. A plan of the site-is illustrated on Figure 2. <br /> The Work Plan is prepared in accordance with .San Joaquin County Public Health Services = <br /> Environmental Health Division_(PHS-EHD) and Cen ral Valley Regional Water Quality-Control <br /> Boardguidelines for the investigation'of UST sites. <br /> 2.0. - . BACKGROUND. <br /> 2,1. SITE LOCATION <br /> The site islocated at the northwest corner of the intersection of Von`-Sosten Road and Hatisen Road <br /> in a Waal area northwest of Tracy, California. The property is approximately 10 acres in,size and is <br /> occupied by Lammersville.Elementary School. <br /> A maintenance garage and house are located near the northeast corner'of the site; two underground <br /> storage tanks(USTs)were formerly located in this area. he tanks were used to fuel school vehicles. <br /> The Lammersville Elementary School yard is located mediately west and south of the project area. <br /> 2.2. UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK REMOVAL <br /> LSD operated.one 550-gallon regular gasoline UST and one 2,000-gallon diesel UST at the site. The <br /> gasoline tank was removed in December 1986 and the diesel tank was.removed in March 1989. <br /> Samples collected from beneath the gasoline tank indicated a-release of hydrocarbons. The petroleum <br /> hydrocarbon impacted'soil excavated during the tank removal was later'used to backfill the <br /> excavation. According.to representatives of LSD, samples collected from beneath the diesel tank <br /> "showedno contaminants." However, because ground'�water depth was approximately.10'feet, the <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Services -Environmental Health.Division (PHS-EHD) required . <br /> a subsurface investigation of the site: .
