STOCKPILE.SOIL SAMPLING
After completion of excavation, soil',samples will be co Iected frorn:the excavated'soil to determine
hydrocarbon concentrations for remediation•evaluation. he following procedures will be performed:
1, . Collect soil samples from the stockpiled soil. Soil samples will be collected using a metric soil
sampler loaded with two clean,2 by 3-inch brass sleeves. Two soil samples will be collected
from each 50 cubic yards of stockpiled soil.
2.. The ends of the lead brass sleeve will be covered with Teflon sheets; capped and sealed with .
tape. Each sample will be stored in a-chilled con ainer for transportation to a State-certified
laboratory.
3. Label and log soil. samples on a chain of custod form.
-4. Samples will-be composited at the laboratory for analysis at a 2 to 1 ratio (for each 50 cubic .
yards of soil). Samples:will be'analyzed for I H-g and'BTE&X in accordance with EPA
methods 8015m and 8020,.respectively:
4.4. REMEDIAL OPTION CONSIDERATION PORT PREPARATION
Upon completion of excavation and backfilling proedures and receipt '.of'analytical results, remediation or disposal alternatives forahe excavated soil will.be considered. AGE.will. meet with
representatives of LSD and the PHS-EHD to determine tl e most feasible'and cost-effective treatment
or disposal method for the excavated soil. A Work Plan Addendum discussing the. proposed
-treatment/disposal option will be submitted to the PHS EHID.
Additionally, areport will be prepared summarizing.result of the excavation, sampling and backfilling
procedures. ,The reportwill be iii a format acceptable I o the PHS-EHD and will be'reviewed and
signed by a California Registered.Geologist. m
