Von Sosten Rd.
Tracy, CA
San Joaquin County Public Health Services
f Environmental Health Division
(PHS/EHD) has reviewed the "Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring Report" for the
October and November 1994 groundwater sampling events, prepared by Geological
Audit Services, Inc. for the above referenced site.
Prior to the sampling of the monitoring wells in October and November 1994, the
most recent laboratory data from groundwater samples collected from the site was
in October 1992. At that time groundwater samples from MW2 and MW6 evidenced
significant contamination. The! October and November 1994 groundwater sample
results indicate low levels of contamination.
Geological Audit Services, Inc. 1proposed drilling soil borings and collecting
grab water samples in two locations and drilling one soil boring near the former
gasoline tank area to investigate the soil in that area. PHS/EHD concurs that
further investigation in these areas are needled.
In addition, PHS/EHD recommends further soil investigation near the former diesel
tank area since PHS/EHD staff noted odor and discoloration of the soil at the
time the diesel tank was removed;`. PHS/EHD also recommends sampling groundwater
between MW6 and MW10. Investigation by push point sampling should be explored
as an alternative to hollow stern auger drill gig sampling for this work.
The existing monitoring wells should be sampled and the results submitted in a
quarterly report until the investigation and remediation of the site is complete.
Please schedule sampling of the monitoring weds immediately.
If you have any questions contact Margaret: Lagorio at (209) 468-3449.
Donna Heran, RENS, Director
Environmental Health Division
Margaret Lagorio, Lead Senior RENS Diane Hinson, REES
Site Mitigation Unit Supervisor
ML
c: Geological Audit Services, Inc
c: CVRWQCB - Beth Thayer
i
f
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
