Von Sosten Road chool District
p12, Tracy, CA 95376 County of San Joaquin
RlssE Dear Mr. Olds:
STATUS OF 1986/87 FISCAL YEAR CRITICAL HARDSHIP
HERNANDE This letter is in response to our teleph ne conversation of March 16, 1992,
regarding the District's underground storage tank hardships.
At present, the District has received al of the money apportioned for the 1986/87
fiscal year underground storage tank pro ect. Although the project has not been
completed, the Office of Local Assistance (OLA) will close the project to costs
—X3 incurred.
cAMPOS I The OLA has received the District's application for the 1991/92 fiscal year. The
District has provided a complete cost estimate to finish the project. Because the
revised estimate far exceeds the 1986/87 fiscal year estimate, the OLA will allow
the District to reopen the project using 1991/92 fiscal year funds provided that
funds become available.
In our conversation, you explained that the revised final estimate of $517,384
reflects only the costs for this request and does not include any costs incurred
from the 1986/87 fiscal year project. Before the OLA can present the District's
hardship- to the State Allocation Board, vould you please submit the engineers cost
estimate and also an explanation and cost breakdown of each item on the estimate.
Please be prepared to discuss each item and its relevancy to the project. The OLA
might reimburse the District for engineering fees but not consulting fees. The
_ _. District should also realize that its deposit and the state's matching share must
be Out toward the cost of the project.
If you require assistance, please contact me at (916) 323-3884.
Sincerely,
PAUL RISSE
Field Representative
Deferred Maintenance Program
PR:oc
