Figure. 2 , Site Plan , shows the Iocation of tilt. <br /> monitoring wells . <br /> The wells were constructed of 2-inch diameter achedulf! 40 <br /> PVC casfng and 0.020•-1neif machine slotted well screen and were <br /> installed to a total depth of approximately 20 feet (except MW2, <br /> which was drilled to 10 feet) . The wells were constructed with <br /> a 15 font screened interval from 20 fent to 5 feet below grade. <br /> MW1 and MW2 were constructed differently to establish the <br /> vertical extent of the contaminant encountered and to determine <br /> if a vertical gradiation exists at the site. MWI was screened <br /> from 21 feet to 12 feet below grade while MW2 was screened from <br /> f 10 feet to 5 feet below grade (see Appendix 1 , Drill Logs , for <br /> construction details) . <br /> A sand pack consisting of clean $2 Monterey sand was planed <br /> In the annulus of each well from the bottom of the well to a <br /> point I foot above the screen interval . The wells were completed <br /> with a bentonite seal , cement. and a trafflc rated street box to <br /> provide access to the wells. <br /> i <br /> 7 <br />
