:.
Lammersville School District 2021899-7004
July 16, 1990 12
- 6.0 SUBSURFACE CONDITIONS
The upper 3 to 4 feet of soil beneath the site consists of gravelly sand used for the shoulder of
Hansen Road, Beneath this layer, the soils underlying the subject site consist of interbedded layers of
tan, sandy clay, and brown, medium-grained sand. With the exception of sand encountered near the
water table at a depth of approximately 7 feet below grade in boring MW-6, none of the soil layers
encountered in MW-6, MW-7, and MW-8 exhibited any petroleum hydrocarbon odors. A distribution of
the soils encountered in MW-6, MW-7,and MW-8 is presented in the drill logs in Appendix ll,and cross-
sections A-A'and B-8'(Figure 4). The initial depth to groundwater encountered in MW-6,MW-7,and MW-
- 8 during the drilling operation was 7 feet below ground surface. Static groundwater leva!s measured in
MW-6, MW-7, and MW-8 on June 21, 1990, were 7.15 feet, 7.34 feet, and 7.43 feet, respectively, below
__- ground surface. Elevation survey data of the wells indicates groundwater is flowing in a northerly r
direction, with a hydraulic gradient of approximately 0.009 Wit (Figure 3).
7.0 RESULTS OF CHEMICAL ANALYSES
7.1 SOIL
- Table S lists the soil samples submitted for chemical analysis, the depths below grade at which
- they were collected, and their corresponding PID readings.
TABLE 5
SOIL SAMPLES SUBMITTED FOR ANALYSIS
BORING SAMPLE DEPTH feet PID READING (ppm]
MW-6 MW-6A 7 1
— MW-7 MW-7A 6 1
MW-8 MW-8A 6 0
GROUNDWATER
ry
F.
