Analysis of sample MW-6A(7 feet
below ground surface)revealed the presence of TPh-i at a concentration o074 ppm. Benzene, toluene,
p
ethlj!`ienzene, and xylene were detected at concentrations of 0.39 m, pPj0.12
ppm, and
0.28
ppm, respectively. The soil sample analyzed from MW-6 was obtained just below the water abbalm
therefore the TPH-G and BTEX concentrations detected may be attributable to the pro
hydrocarbons detected in thri groundwater. Copies of the certified analytical reports are presented in
Appendix 111.
7.2 GROUNDWATQ11
With the exception of the groundwater samples obtained from MW-2 and Mw6, none of the
samples obtainers contained BTEX above method detection limits. Analyses of the groundwater sample
collected from MW 2 revealed the presence of benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes at
f the groundwater sample
concentratiosts Of 15 ppb,6 ppb,37 ppb,and 8 ppb, respectively. Analyses o
obtained from MW-6 revealed the presence of benzene, toluene, ethylb respectively,, and t tat xylenes
at
concentrations of 4,800 ppb, 830 ppb, 1,400 ppb, and 2,800 ppb
contaminant levels{MCL)in drinking water for these compounds,as established by the State Department
of Health Services (DMS), are 1 ppb for benzene, 100 ppb for toluene, 6:30 ppb for ethylbenzene, and
1.750 ppb for xylenes.
TPH-G was detected in the groundwater samples obtained from all eight
monit ring l wassite.
not
The concentrations detected ranged from 17 ppb in MW-4 to 17,u0u ppb
detected above its method detection limit of 10 ppb in the groundwater samples obtained'cram MW-1
through MW-8. Currently, no drinking water standards have been established by the DHS for TPH-G or
- TPH-D. No separate-phase petroleum hydrocarbons were measured in=•^y of the eight monitoring wells
on site. Results Of the groundwater analyses are presented in Table 6. Copie of the certified analytical
results for the.lune 21, 1990 sampling period are presented in Appendix Ill.
CROUNMIATFR --
TEICHNOLOGY !,%;C.
