I have reviewed the workplan, and have a few comments.
As we discussed last week, the workplan isnot very detailed as far as where
the laboratory samples will be collected, ''and at what depth they will be
collected from. I understand your desire ,to be able to make decisions in the
field, based on the results of the Hach te'Ists and nitrate test strips. This
is fine, as long as you keep in mind thaCthe purpose of the investigation is
to determine the lateral and vertical extent of nitrogen contamination
(expressed as both TKN and NOA .
We also discussed my concern about whether,'; samples would be collected from the
west side of the tank farm, and you assured me that this area would also be
addressed.
With the above comments, the workplan is approved. Please begin the
investigation as soon as your consultant's work schedule and the weather
allows. Also, please let me know when you' plan to begin the field work, in
case I wish to schedule an inspection at that time.
If you have any questions, I can be reached at (916) 255-3104.
WENDY WYE S 1
Ag Regulatory Unit
cc: Mr. Michael Infurna, San Joaquin County Health Department, Stockton
Mr. Bill Withrow, PM Ag Products, Illinois
Mr. John Rapp, Sierra-Pacific Consultants, El Dorado Hills
I
