First Semi-Annual (1997) Monitoring Report, 2130 West Washington Street, Stockton,
Unocal Order/Contract: 3400001179, Sierra-Pacific Project No. 92-033.04
Dear Ms. Wyels:
Sierra-Pacific Groundwater Consultants, Inc. (Sierra-Pacific) is pleased to submit the First Semi-Annual
(1997) Monitoring Report for the subject site. Ground water is still flowing west beneath the Washington
Street site. The greatest potentiometric elevation changes were again observed at MW-2 where storm water
infiltration apparently causes localized water mounding. The down-gradient well (MW-7) is still clean, with
no nitrates detected. Nitrate levels appear to be attenuating at the up-gradient wells (MW-2 and MW-8).
In response to yet another round of favorable test results, Sierra-Pacific is recommending regulatory closure
of the site. It would make sense for RWQCB to release Unocal, and require Koppel to take over monitoring
duties at the 2130 West Washington Street site. r-I ' r
In response to your verbal request, Sierra-Pacific will measure water levels at the site on either April24_ot
25. Please call if you have any questions or directives.
1 -
Sincerely,
SIERRA-PACIFIC GROUNDWATER CONSULTANTS, INC. x=
Jo a en pp, CEG-1133
S r Engineering Geologist
JSR/DWJ/jb
Enclosure
C.
