Liquid <br /> from this sump was disposed of as"Non-regulated liquid,vac-oil, sludge" by Saftey-Kleen on a bill of lading on <br /> 12/13/18.According to Mr.Yonan,the auto shop teacher, rain water collects in the sump from the surrounding <br /> areas.Any person who generates a waste shall determine if the waste is a hazardous waste. Immediately clean out <br /> the sump, make a hazardous waste determination for the oily liquid, and manage it according the Title 22 hazardous <br /> waste regulations. Submit a statement and supporting documentation explaining how this waste was managed to the <br /> EHD. <br /> This is a repeat violation, Class II. <br /> 601 CCR 66262.34(d)Stored hazardous waste onsite greater than 180 days. <br /> 60 gallons of used oil from the used oil tank outside the auto shop was last disposed on July 17, 2018. Facilities who <br /> generate less than 1000 kg of hazardous waste per month and do not exceed 6000 kg of waste stored on site at any <br /> time may store waste on site up to 180 days. Immediately contact a licensed hazardous waste hauler to dispose of <br /> this waste under manifest and submit a copy of the manifest to the EHD. <br /> This is a Class II violation. <br /> Overall Inspection Comments: <br /> Notes: <br /> The 500 gallon used oil tank located outside the auto shop was missing an accumulation start date. All hazardous <br /> waste tanks shall be marked with the words "Hazardous Waste"and the accumulation start date. This was <br /> corrected on site. <br /> Waste streams observed: oil filters, drained used oil filters, oily absorbent, Iodine, vinegar, isopropyl alcohol, spent <br /> antifreeze, parts washer solutions, latex paint, used oil. <br /> Inspector provided: return to compliance certification. <br /> Complete and submit a copy of the Return to Compliance Certification form to the EHD with a statement <br /> documenting the corrective actions that have been or will be taken for each violation, and any supporting <br /> paperwork, by June 15th, 2018 . <br /> Starting September 1, 2018, all in-office CERS help will be provided at EHD hourly rate ($152).
